Avanti means forward progression. So as the name denotes, we are a forward progressing establishment.

Avanti has a history that starts with it's owner, Mary Pat Mercer, and started off as Mary Pat's for Hair Designing on Sth 7th St., moved to Chimney Rock Road, then to River Oaks Village on Sth 14th St., had a sister salon, E. Christopher, and then transformed into Avanti at it's present location, Sth 27th and Barrow St..

The interior experience is a mediterranean spa feel, highly professional staff, and super affordable prices for all to experience quaulity beauty services.

Get to know our staff:

Brenda: 18 years experiece as a stylist, cuts all hair types, long and short, curly and straight, women and men. She uses Paul Mitchell and Matrix hair color, specializes in colors, hilights and multi- dimensional colors, formal and casual styles, and feather extensions.

Corina: 13 years experience, 3 years as a Matrix Artistic Educator, Uses Paul Mitchell Color, and specializes in long hair and coloring

Chrissy: 12 years experience, specializes in men's cuts and short hair cuts as well as color, Uses Paul Mitchell color, Skilled in classic and trendy styles, Knowldegdable of ethnic and various hair types, and she also does waxing


And our owner, Mary Pat Mercer: 30+ years experience as a Stylist, Color, Color correction, Long and short haircuts and styles, Artificial wave enhancement, Extensions, Complete hair enhancement for cancer patients (wigs), Spa party's and packages
