You've heard about the nationally acclaimed trails in Northwest Arkansas. Here is your chance to run and ride the newest gem in the collection on December 10-11, 2016 at the Back 40 Trail Run & Ride. Brought to you by the same team from the award winning War Eagle Trail Running Festival. The Back 40 is the first of a multi-phase project that plans for a total of 150 miles of natural-surface trail through the City of Bella Vista’s 45 square miles. The construction of the trail system is by NWA Trailblazers and has been fully funded by a $3 million grant to that organization from the Walton Family Foundation. Thanks to the City of Bella Vista for the opportunity to organize this event. Mayor Peter Christie approached us with this idea and we jumped on it. This is a two day event that allows trail runners and mountain bikers to come together and play in our new backyard.

Three distances for the run and ride are 10k, 20 mile and 40 mile. We encourage you to participate on both days. Trail runners will go on Saturday and riders take their turn on Sunday. Our goal is for each group to support the other on race day and to enjoy hanging out together afterwards. Race headquarters will be at Blowing Springs and the entire park will be reserved for racers. Camping will be available. Food trucks will be on site as well as a beer garden hosted by local brewery, Bentonville Brewing.

Everyone who registers will receive a shirt with our phenomenal race logo. Ryan Holler has once again designed a beautiful piece of artwork that you can wear. All finishers of a single event will receive a handmade award. Those of you brave enough to double up will get an extra special finishers award. And wait until you see what we have for the overall top finishers.

The courses for all distances will be 100% singletrack and will be well marked. There will be cutoffs for all distances.

Aid stations will be available and staffed with experienced runners and riders.

Course maps and elevation profiles will be available once the courses are finalized.

The number of participants will be limited. If you want to come out and play with us sign up early.

Registration deferrals or rollovers will not be accepted. Bib transfers will be accepted but there will be a deadline for completing the transfer. Additionally, there will be no changes in sizes for shirts.
