Badin Lake Triathlon

Presented by Alcoa, the Badin Lake Triathlon is a fundraiser for the Stanly County Family YMCA Strong Communities Fund to support the six Signature Outreach Programs of the Y

Saturday, June 6, 2014 - Badin Lake Sprint Triathlon, 8:00 AM

Badin Lake is a GREAT venue for a sprint triathlon. Event includes the following:

750 Yard Open Water Swim: Swimmers will enter the lake on the far side of the swimming area in Badin, cross over the floating barricades, swim out to a buoy, and follow the shoreline to the grass landing across from the Alcoa building.

14 Mile Bike Ride: the cycling route will take participants through the rolling hills of Stanly County. Beginning at the transition area, the course follows 740, left on Falls Road, right on Boyden, left on Valley Drive, right on Vickers Store Road, left on 740, right on Laton Road, right on Ridge, right on Airport Road, right on 740 and return to the transition area.

5K Run through Historic Badin ending in the field near the boat landing.
