Badwater, California

Badwater is an unincorporated community in Inyo County, California. It is located in Death Valley 7mi northeast of Bennetts Well, at an elevation of -266 feet (-81 m). Badwater is the lowest elevation settlement in North America, near Badwater Basin, which contains the lowest point in North America. Badwater has been noted for its unusual place name.Badwater is also known for being the start of the Badwater 135 Ultramarathon which is billed as the toughest foot race on the planet.
