More about Bair Island Aquatic Center

The Bair Island Aquatic Center (BIAC) enjoys year-round access to protected marine waters and provides a variety of human powered watercraft for member use. BIAC is located in Silicon Valley just upstream from the Port of Redwood City. We also rent storage space to members for their shells, kayaks, paddleboards, and outrigger canoes. (Note, we do not offer equipment rental at this time.)

Join us if you are interested in learning a new sport, improving your skills, enjoying the local waterways, or racing competitively at local, national, and international events. BIAC is the place for rowing, sculling, and paddling on the San Francisco Peninsula.

As part of our Community Outreach efforts, BIAC hosts programs for at-risk and special needs youth and corporate team building events. BIAC also sponsors the Redwood City “Government Sprints” at the citywide PortFest each October. For this event, our coaches conduct Learn to Row and training sessions for the Redwood City Council and Planning Commission. Training culminates in three 500-meter races held at the Port of Redwood City. If you would like to learn more about these events, please email us.

Formed in 1999, BIAC is a nonprofit organization offering community paddling, rowing, and sculling programs, while providing access to San Francisco Bay's sensitive and unique ecosystems. BIAC, formerly the Stanford Rowing Club, is a member of US Rowing; our organization number is 315.
