More about Bangladesh Students' Association Ryerson

Bangladeshi Students’ Association at Ryerson (BSAR) is a student group that was formed in 2003 with a mission to educate Bengali youths and the overall Ryerson community about the Bengali culture. BSAR was established to setup a support structure for Bengali students both new in Canada and new to Ryerson, through networking with fellow students, senior students and alumni. The main goal was to do all these very important activities in the most fun filled and enjoyable way.

BSAR bears Bengali flagship with pride and participates in various community activities to establish constructive ideology in the society. Since its inception, BSAR has organized dinners, cultural shows, inter-university sports tournaments, orientation for new members, debate competitions, Bengali film festivals, art competitions, barbecues, trips and last but not least many successful charity events. BSAR members have promoted Ryerson University to the community with great success. Through adeptly organized events and a knack to think outside the box, BSAR members have greatly enhanced Ryerson University’s profile in the whole Bengali community.

Since BSAR is a non-profit organization, all profit made through events are either saved for supporting future events or donated to charities. BSAR organizes a few fund raising events every year, for the needy in Bangladesh and victims of natural disasters in the world.

Feel free to provide feedback on past events and to even suggest ideas for future events, we appreciate any input!
