Baptist Town Community Center

This facility is the realization of a long-standing goal to have a central gathering space within the historic Baptist Town neighborhood. Baptist Town Community Development (BTCD), partners with the business community, and city and county leadership to offer programming to develop positive outcomes for local residents, particularly youth. Prior to opening the Baptist Town Community Center, neighborhood residents held numerous activities including community wide clean up days and an annual community day celebration. Generous donations from the cast and the crew of the film The Help, part of which was filmed in Baptist Town, allowed the purchase and opening of the Community Center building, and significant growth toward the realization of the aspirations of neighborhood residents.
