Barlow Water Improvement District

The purpose of the corporation shall be to furnish water for domestic use and the irrigation of non agricultural land for the residents entitled to water from the Barlow Water Improvement District as outlined in the bylaws.



There are seven (7) initial directors of Barlow Water Improvement District. Their successors shall be elected by a vote of the voting members in an election of the members as stated in the bylaws. The term of office for all directors is three years.



The principal office of the Barlow Water Improvement District for the transaction of business (including the mailing address), is 11 South County Road, #B, Tygh Valley, Oregon, located in Wasco County. Office Phone Number is (541) 544-2920 with normal office hours Monday to Thursday, 9am to 1pm. Meetings are scheduled for the second Saturday of each month at 9 am and are held at the Fire Department located near the South Boat Ramp in the Community Meeting Room.


The corporation shall have one class of members who shall be those persons who are a legal owner or purchaser of a tract of real property of sufficient size to permit the construction of a livable dwelling to which a water service connection to the corporation's lines has been made, regardless of whether water is being used, and which tract of real property is located within one (1) mile of the Pine Hollow Development Boundary. If there is a legal owner and a contract purchaser of the same tract of real property, only the contract purchaser of the property shall have a vote. Voting by the membership of this District shall be on the basis of one (1) vote regardless of the number of owners of the lot. No member shall have more than one (1) vote regardless of the number of lots owned.



This corporation is not organized for profit and neither the corporation nor its members shall profit from the business of the corporation other than from the benefits of the improvements of the land for which the corporation is formed.
