The story behind Baron’s
Jams and Jellies
Baron was my 5 year old blue Weimaraner who, toward the end of July 2015 was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma. I was shocked hearing this diagnoses because he was so young and was so special to me. Both my husband and I made our minds up we would do anything to try and extend my sweet boy's life.
After two months of expensive chemo therapy I saw his quality of life go down hill and just two months past his 6th birthday, on October 8, 2015, I had to say goodbye to my baby and let him cross the Rainbow Bridge
Baron was my rock and the glue that kept me together but most importantly he was love of my life. He was that one special dog that many have never had in their lifetime. I was so lucky to have him even though his life was cut short and I was devastated and cried everyday for almost a month...
Then in December my friend Denise Ridgeon of Lifeline Dog Rescue showed me several pictures of one of the dogs they had just rescued. His name was Cooper and he was a 2 year old blue Weimaraner that was originally sold on Craigslist in Alabama. The woman who got him kept him outside all the time because she didn't know if he would get along with her other small dog that was kept inside. I don't know the whole story about Cooper, but Lifeline rescued him. Cooper is a tiny boy only weighing around 63 pounds. No comparison to my Baron who was a big boy weighing in at almost 100 pounds. One of the first pictures Denise showed was of him at the vets with such a scared look on his face. I had seen this same look on my Baron's face. Denise asked if I would like to have Cooper and I said yes. Well to make a long story short Denise arrived with Cooper several weeks before Christmas. He was nothing like my Baron and that is what I wanted,
I know that Cooper will never be like my Baron, but he is helping me to cope and heal my torn heart left by my loss... Cooper is a sweet little boy and has become my shadow and doesn't leave my side. I guess that's why they call these Weimaraner's Velcro dogs.
I'm making and selling Baron's jams and jellies to keep my Baron's memory alive as well as to thank Denise for giving me Cooper and to also help Lifeline Dog Rescue by giving the majority of the proceeds to them. Denise has helped and given me so much and this is my way of giving back to her. So please won't you keep my Baron's memory alive as well as helping other dogs needing loving homes and buy Baron's Jams and Jellies?
Thank you,
Sharyn and Baron
