Barrett Farm Ponds Sport Fishing

Barrett Farm Ponds offers two ponds which are stocked with Bass, Bream, Bluegill, Crappie and Catfish. Public sport fishing is now being offered by appointment.

The first pond is a 5 acre pond averaging about 8 ft in depth and the second is a 1 acre dug irrigation pond with depths of over 25 ft in places. Fishing from the bank and from small boats with non-gasoline powered trolling motors are possible.

This is primitive fishing. There are areas left in a completely natural state and accessible best by boat. At the same time, a majority of the ponds are accessible from the banks. Non-alcoholic refreshments may be brought and restrooms are provided behind every tree and shrub!

The ponds are kept mowed and clean. There are several bait shops in the area.

Some areas have low hanging limbs or downed trees partially submerged to create favorable conditions for the fish. And don't be surprised to see the busy little beavers responsible for maintaining this environment when you visit us.

Kids and elders fish free or at a reduced rate. Rules are in place to protect everyone's fishing experience and a waiver of liability will need to be signed for each adult at their first visit.


Here are the rules & prices, all of which are subject to change as deemed necessary as the season progresses.

Barrett Farm Pond Rules ~ (Revised March 2017)

1. All fishing for the 2017 season is for sport. This means these are catch and release only ponds. NO fish may be kept.

2. No one under the age of 13 will be able to fish without being accompanied by an adult (18 yr. old) who will be responsible for the child.

3. You may fish at your own risk only after you've signed a waiver of any lawsuits or damages.

5. Use of minnows will be allowed but no Shiners and Goldfish.

6. No gasoline motors on boats.

7. No more than one pole per paying customer may be in the water at the same time.

8. No alcohol, guns or illegal drugs.

9. Please take what you bring. Leaving trash will impact your future use of the ponds.
