Barrington Honor Ride and Run

This event supports Project Hero and features a 10,30, or 50 mi bike ride through the Barrington area, a trail run or 1 mi fun run through Cook County Spring Lake Preserve. The day starts with a beautiful opening ceremony, where we recognize and honor those to whom we owe so much, followed by the ride and run. This year we partnering with Barrington Hills and their annual Hills Are Alive Heritage Festival and anticipate a fun filled day for the whole family with a family festival with live music, food, kid friendly activities, and drink to round out this family friendly and inspiring day!

Project Hero is produced by the Fitness Challenge Foundation, a registered 501(C)3 charitable organization in partnership with the Veterans Administration Volunteer Service Office, to benefit mental and physical rehabilitation programs that feature cycling as the core activity. Cycling is an important part of the recovery process because it is an activity that almost all patients with mental and physical disabilities can participate, and it speeds the rehabilitation process.
