Bayou Farm

At Bayou Farm, we believe in working with nature--the soil, microorganisms, and pasture plants--to produce healthy, delicious meats. We use management intensive grazing, moving our livestock in complementary rotations through our pastures, to optimize both animal and pasture plant performance. With this holistic farming model, we produce Pastured Lamb and Grass-fed Beef.

Bayou Farm also raises rare, heritage breeds of livestock uniquely adapted to our hot, humid climate. Pineywoods Cattle and St. Croix Sheep trace their origins to the first livestock brought to North America by the Spanish explorers. With little human intervention for hundreds of years, these breeds adapted to and thrived in the Caribbean and along the Gulf Coast regions of the United States. Through our conservation breeding programs, we are working to preserve their rare and special genes for future generations of farmers.
