Bayou Vista is a city in Galveston County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,537 at the 2010 census. The racial makeup of the city was 94.83% White, 0.55% African American, 0.43% Native American, 0.79% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 2.37% from other races, and 0.97% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.87% of the population.The 784 households out of which 12.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.9% were married couples living together, 4.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.1% were non-families. 27.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.10 and the average family size was 2.48.
