Park Hours: 5am - 10pm
Baytown’s newest park is going to the dogs, literally. Baytown residents and their four-legged friends will soon be able to frolic in one Baytown park without leashes and without the fear of cars or other hazards. The 5-acre Bark Park is located next to Jenkins Park (4334 Crosby Cedar Bayou).
Designed with the input of the Baytown Kennel Club, the park includes 4-acres for large dogs and one acre for smaller dogs. Bark Park amenities include walking trails, drinking fountains (for people and dogs), shade covers, benches and dog agility equipment.
“We’re really excited to offer a park like this to our residents,” said Parks & Recreation Director Scott Johnson. “Parks for people with dogs, help people spend quality time with their pets and promote responsible pet ownership. For the dogs, this helps satisfy their cravings for canine companionship, and burns off extra energy by allowing them to run and play with other dogs, off leash in a safe, contained area,” he added.
