More about Beacon Blessings

What started as a hobby and an old-fashioned way to provide for our family, soon turned into a licensed business. Our family strives to eat local, organic, and non-GMO foods. We carry that into the business. If we can source it from Maine we do. First and foremost, we grow, produce and put up the ingredients our self. The items that we can't produce enough of we source from local farmers in large quantities. Most of it even out there picking our self. There simply is nothing like making strawberry jam in a blizzard and all you smell is that sweet July aroma.

We craft a wide variety of jams and jellies. We have flavors all over the board from Raspberry Jalapeno Jam to Orange Marmalade to Blueberry Jam. A lot of items must be sent out for testing. There is a long list of items that are going to make it out for testing (this list is always growing). We have two BBQ sauces and a Homestyle ketchup currently back from testing and a shipment in testing now.

We are licensed to sell meat. We offer organic (not certified) chicken. We offer several cuts and do take deposits for pre-sale. Our organic (not certified) chicken starts to be available in the spring every year.

We sell eggs by the dozen or via our CSA’s. The laying hens are also all fed Organic Grain. The Egg CSA’s become available in the early spring and deliver May to October at the Bethel Farmers Market.

Our little farm is on 7 acers in the beautiful Western Foothills of Oxford, Maine. We have been here since 2009 and are constantly adding to the landscape, cultivating it for the future. We have done maple syrup on our property before and have quite the extensive garden. The items that come out of our garden get used in our products. Last year we added an asparagus bed. This year we added peach trees and are actively building a commercial kitchen.

We vend at the Bethel Farmers Market every Saturday. We also participate in events through the year. So far this year we will be doing events at Hummingbird Farms in Turner, Harvest Fest in Bethel, GNG Community Fair in Gray, USM November show in Gorham and the 41st Annual Trappers Weekend in Bethel. We sell online via Forager, Etsy, Boondocks Buying Club and Harvest to Market. We have several wholesale accounts and are actively seeing more wholesale relationships.
