Beasts n' Brews

Grab your spoon and dig into delicious bowls of chili in support of North Union Farmers Market! They supply local beers, local music and local grass-fed beef for tasty chili recipes. North Union Farmers Market is hosting their second annual Beasts n’ Brews ChiliFest at Legacy Village on Saturday, April 29 from 1 – 5 p.m. For only $5, festival-goers are admitted to the ChiliFest with a personal chili spoon, perfect for digging into delicious bowls of tasty chili. Pick your favorites from local chefs and farms and vote for the best chili in Cuyahoga County!

Donita Anderson is North Union’s Executive Director and says, “When people think of farmers markets they don’t realize that wonderful local grass-fed meat is also produced by our farms. We hope to highlight our farms’ gifts and those of local chefs and craft beer producers. This event showcases the culinary talent of gifted professional chefs, Ohio farmers and our own local cooks.”

ChiliFest chefs and farmers will bring their finest homemade chili – whether meat, vegetarian or vegan, as festival-goers cast votes to name the “Best of Fest” chili. At last year’s competition Chef Chris Kafcsak of Deagan’s Kitchen & Bar took home first prize for their “smokey and sweet pork chili with a cornbread dumpling!” After sampling the best local chili, cool your palate with plenty of craft beers served by local brewers and listen to local bluegrass music .

Beasts n’ Brews is a charitable event supporting North Union Farmers Market’s mission of championing local foods by connecting certified producers with consumers at their network of ten farmers markets. Besides fresh produce, beef and other meats are available at the markets.
