We're two photographers in love with western North Dakota where we see so much beauty. Mary (Mary's Photos) and Mike (Mykuhls Photography) capture and share their exploits hiking, camping, exploring and enjoying the badlands and grasslands region of western North Dakota. On occasion, we invite others who see the beauty of the badlands region to share their images with us. Our images as canvas wraps and framed prints have displayed in Watford City, Dickinson, Bismarck, Williston, Minot, Fargo and Mayville where many of them have sold (Hooray!). Mike Kopp (Wilton, ND)
Mike is a life long career journalist with experience in television news, radio news, and a six year stint as a late-night FM blues disc jockey. He was a newspaper editor in western North Dakota, and won six awards for newspaper photography and five awards for broadcast documentaries. His photos have sold in galleries across North Dakota and are known for “sense of place and time”, as each is accompanied with a story giving the collector a sense of place in North Dakota. Mike has hiked, canoed, camped, and ridden horses in the Badlands of North Dakota for over 35 years.


Mary Lou Tastad (Portland, ND)
Mary Lou is an avid photographer with an educational background in architecture, interior design, fashion design, and the arts. While employment brought her to retail management, construction, and preschool education in eastern North Dakota, and northern Alabama, Mary Lou now spends the major part of her time traveling the world with camera in hand.
