Beaver Bay Township is a township in Lake County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 582 at the 2000 census.State Highways 1 and 61 are two of the main routes in the township.Beaver Bay Township was organized in 1885, and named after Beaver Bay, Minnesota.GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 140.2sqmi, of which 138.6sqmi is land and 1.6sqmi (1.16%) is water.DemographicsAt the 2000 census, there were 582 people, 242 households and 163 families residing in the township. The population density was 4.2 per square mile (1.6/km²). There were 403 housing units at an average density of 2.9/sq mi (1.1/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.77% White, 0.17% African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.17% Asian, and 1.55% from two or more races.
