Bel-Nor

Bel-Nor is a northwestern suburban city of St. Louis in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,499 as of the 2010 census. The events that were the basis for the 1971 novel and 1973 movie The Exorcist have a connection to the village of Bel-Nor. The racial makeup of the village was 48.7% White, 46.4% African American, 2.2% Asian, 0.3% from other races, and 2.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.3% of the population.There were 668 households of which 22.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.7% were married couples living together, 12.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 38.3% were non-families. 31.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.24 and the average family size was 2.81.
