Why come to the Quiet?

A silent retreat at Bellarmine is adapted from the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius Loyola. In brief, the Spiritual Exercises are a "pathway to God;" a way to experience union with God through personal prayer and contemplation. During the retreat there are times for private reflection and public worship. Each day, Mass is celebrated and optional devotions are offered for those wishing to participate. The Jesuits on staff are available throughout the weekend for counseling and confession.

Don't let the structure get in the way! When you come to the quiet you are away from the struggles and despairs of daily life. Take time to sit, walk, think, meditate. Use the personal silence as a way to gain better perspective on the challenges in your lfie and to deeper your connection to our loving and faithful God.
