I have been a photographer for several years, and have always enjoyed focusing on children and family portraits. It wasn't until I gave birth to my own son in 2013 that I realized there were not a lot of affordable options to have this amazing journey captured.
Luckily, I was able (with the help of my husband and family) to photograph my journey through pregnancy. This still left a lack of birthing photos. I will always regret not having a photo of that first moment I saw my sons incredible face look at me!!! It is a memory I cherish and but fear time will take.
I recognize that bringing a new family member into the world can be a very stressful and emotional time, which is why I feel that a service like this would be so valued.
One of the greatest benefits is that by the time your little one arrives, we will have met several times and established a relationship. You will not have the added stress of another stranger invading such a personal journey!
I know some people may be nervous about having a photographer around during the birth! That could certainly have made me uncomfortable. Please know that, one; the birthing session is not required, and two; if you choose to have your birth photographed, it will be done with as much discretion as you desire!
