More about Benbrook Lions Club

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.3 million members in approximately 45,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.

If you enjoy helping others and want to make our community a better place, join the Benbrook Lions Club, or continue to support our projects. One hundred percent of the funds donated to, or collected by, our fund raisers go to support our projects. We hope you will help us meet the pressing needs of our community and around the world.

Benbrook Lions Club was chartered in 1952 as part of Lions Club International, a volunteer organization begun in 1917. Lions have always been committed to serving their local community.

For almost 60 years, the Benbrook Lions Club has been one of the leading service organizations in our community. Our motto, "We Serve", is something the Benbrook Lions Club takes very seriously, and each member strives to help meet the ever increasing needs of our society.

Each year the Benbrook Lions Club provides eye exams and free glasses to many underprivileged school children in Benbrook and surrounding neighborhoods.

We support "Save Our Seniors" as well as sponsor a Junior or Senior in the District Lions Outstanding Youth Contest and provide them with a college scholarship award. We lend our support to other annual events including the Benbrook Firefighters Association's Christmas Tree Lighting and Food Drive. The Benbrook Lions annually sponsor youth baseball/softball teams and support our local Scouting organizations. Annual service awards are presented by the Lions Club to Benbrook Police Officers and Fire Fighters.

Benbrook Lions Club annually conducts a Christmas celebration with nursing home residents, promotes Diabetes and Drug Awareness in our local schools, and supports the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Texas for children with medical conditions.

Funds which allow for the Benbrook Lions Club to support community needs are generated from two major events: the Chili Supper and Auction held the first Saturday in March, and the Benbrook Lions Club Golf Tournament held annually.
