Our life enables deep listening and demands an active response to the needs of the Church and world. We pray the Liturgy of the Hours three times a day, share a common table and all that we own. This radical interconnectedness frees us to contemplate the mystery of God's reign and give our gifts in service.
Since our founding in Richmond in 1868, we have served the people of Virginia as teachers, spiritual directors, pastoral associates and counselors. We have worked in parishes and schools, in health care and social services, in finance and administration. We have founded and continue to support seven corporate ministries: Saint Gertrude High School (Richmond), Linton Hall School, BARN, BEACON, Benedictine Pastoral Center, Benedictine Counseling Services, and Sunfish Swimming.
All are welcome to our monastery in Bristow, for Christ is found most often in the stranger at our doors.
