Bessie Allen Preparatory School

B.A.P.S. was started by Bessie Allen in 1955.
Bessie Allen always had a passion for education and teaching. While attending Oakwood College in Huntsville, Al., many of her fellow students look to her for guidance. She was the deans assistance. She obtained a bachelor's degree in elementary education at Oakwood College and a masters degree at Alabama A&M.

Mrs. Allen was her children’s first teacher. Incidentally, she did an excellent job by God’s grace. She was a “real mother” in every sense of the word. Her children NEVER had a baby sitter. She taught them all how to play the piano, type, garden, sew, cook and clean, and study the Word of God. Never a morning or evening passed without the Allen family having family worship. All of this training and talents flowed to the start and fruition of B.A.P.S.

B.A.P.S started in the back of the home of Bessie Allen as she home schooled her children. From there the small beginings grew into two buildings. One a school and one a medical missionary building, there are other buildings on the property as well.

God has blessed, because B.A.P.S. is a self supporting school. Prayer can change a lot of things. There is so much more to do. We need your support.
