Bethany United Church of Christ

Bethany is always buzzing with numerous fellowship activities throughout the year that give members the opportunity to meet with each other beyond just Sunday mornings. Some examples of these activities include: peanut making, dinners, birthday party for Jesus, dances, penny parties, rummage sales, movie matinées, youth group activities, and music groups.

Rally Day is the first day of Sunday School and is held the first Sunday after Labor Day beginning with a delicious breakfast. Sunday School, for children up to grade 6, starts at 9AM, and Confirmation Class, for children desiring to be confirmed into the church, starts at 9:30AM. The children attend classes based upon their grade except for special Sundays when they join together for activities like "Walk Through Holy Week" and an Easter egg hunt. On the last day of Sunday School, usually the Sunday before Memorial Day. Vacation Bible School is held the last week of July of any given year, and is FREE for any child!

Our youth also actively participate in special Sunday worship services as well, such as:
Advent, Christmas, Children's Sunday, and Palm Sunday. Children are invited to participate in our youth group named Carpenter's Kids. They also have the opportunity to participate in Prime Time during the worship service time.

Bethany's Young Adult Ministry meets monthly currently with plans to expand to more activities. We go to the beach, play mini golf, go to vineyards, have Bible Studies, and so much more. In Fall 2014, we will be kicking off Bible Bistro. A time on Sunday mornings to gather around a cup of coffee and discuss hot topics, Bible studies, and develop community.

One of Bethany United Church of Christ's many strengths is its Ministry of Music. All our children’s choirs meet in conjunction with our Sunday School program and incorporates movement, instruments, and voice. Once a month, before Sunday School, Bethany Church offers an opportunity for instrumentalists to play in a church orchestra. That same day, orchestral anthems are played during our worship service. In addition, we have the Adult Chancel Choir and Adult Hand Bell Choir that meets on Wednesday evenings.
