Bethlehem Center

Bethlehem Center, formerly known as the Good News Center and earlier as Sister Ursala’s Kitchen, continues the vital work established by the Daughters of Charity and its successor, Catholic Charities Diocese of Fresno. In February 2011, operation of the Bethlehem Center was transferred to the Catholic Church of Visalia. The center has come full circle.

While operated as a mission of the Catholic Church of Visalia, the Bethlehem Center is supported by many faith communities. Volunteers for meal service are provided by a number of church congregations and many individual volunteers. Our volunteers help Bethlehem Center serve over 4,000 meals each month. With the assistance of regular volunteers and CalWorks and AARP employees, the Center also dispenses over 1,000 food bags and numerous clothing vouchers to the needy every month.

Bethlehem Center invites all people of goodwill to join us in providing the essentials of food and clothing to the poor in an atmosphere of dignity and respect toward all who come to us in their most desperate of times.
