The Better Medicare Alliance (BMA) is a non-profit, 501(c)(4) advocacy coalition that brings together Medicare Advantage beneficiaries; health plans, hospital systems, providers, businesses, and advocacy organizations which support Medicare Advantage. The goal is to promote and sustain the federal policy that enables the option of Medicare Advantage within Medicare.
Medicare Advantage is the part of Medicare that provides comprehensive, high quality, affordable health care coverage to seniors and people with disabilities. Medicare Advantage plans focus on prevention, coordinated care, chronic care management, and innovations in provider payment models that reward value over volume.
Over 17 million Medicare beneficiaries—one third of all beneficiaries – have chosen to enroll in Medicare Advantage because they value the coordinated care, the enhanced benefits, the simplicity and affordability it offers.
BMA is a source of information on the experience in Medicare Advantage plans and the payment and delivery of care that is improving health outcomes for seniors across the country. It is a unique coalition that can speak for the actions necessary to both learn from the evidence in these new care models and advocate for the sustainability of this coordinated care option within Medicare.
