The Bewley Building, in downtown Lockport, NY was built on the foundation of the Hodge Opera House. The opera house was a grand building, a center of culture and commerce in the City of Lockport in the late 19th century, until its demise early in the 20th century. In the late 1920's Charles Bewley purchased the property and converted it to an office building. Overlooking the locks on the Erie Canal, the Bewley Building stands today as the premier location for businesses in downtown Lockport.
