Welcome to Bible Teaching Ministries! We are a non-profit ministry created to encourage, strengthen and grow marriages, families and the local church and to apply Biblical truth to every day living. Throughout this website and the various social media we post on, you will find articles, sermon series, podcasts, short video clips and other resources designed to take the Scriptures and help make them understandable and applicable to the life that you live, wherever you are and whatever you do.

Bible Teaching Ministries began as the outreach of only two people. Bob and Yvonne Welch met during their studies at Louisiana State University and following graduation, were married in 1966. During the early days of their marriage, Bob and Yvonne became more involved in Christian youth work. After several years of working in partnership with their local church, they sensed the Lord’s call to leave the family auto parts business and work with young people.

Shortly after that time, they went into full time ministry with young people and have continued to serve both young people and families since 1972. After many years of teaching the Bible at Briarwood Christian High School, Bible Teaching Ministries, Inc was launched in 1983. They began teaching Scriptural principles throughout the country at churches, conferences, retreats, seminars and in their home in Alabama. During this time Yvonne wrote a Bible Study and Seminar for women entitled “Spiritual Rest in the Life of a Woman,” which has encouraged countless women in their walk with the Lord, both around the United States and even internationally.

Today the scope of ministry has broadened considerably through the work of the local church and now the Internet. The ministry is now located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. In 2008, Bob and Yvonne’s daughter and son-in-law, Cody and Lucy Carnett, joined the ministry to help carry the mission forward to the next generation. In 2013 Christopher and Amanda Welch came along side to help with the increasing technological load of the ministry. In April of this year, Bob and Yvonne’s son Mark and his family have joined part time to help with the accounting and administrative responsibilities.

In addition to the work of Bible Teaching Ministries, Bob, Cody and Christopher all serve in different capacities on staff with their local church, Fredericksburg Christian Fellowship in Fredericksburg, Texas.
