Bible Truth Baptist Church

In February 2003 at Faith Baptist Camp in Resaca, GA the camp meeting moderator called on Brother Jim Veitch to bring a message. This was a miracle in itself because preachers were already scheduled. Ed Lynch, a man from Griffin, GA was in the congregation at this time. After hearing Brother Jim preach Brother Ed asked Brother Jim to preach in Griffin. The preaching service in Griffin turned into a revival. Brother Ed worked with the people of this church to appoint Brother Jim to be the pastor due to the current pastor's health and age. The leadership of this existing church rejected Brother Jim as pastor despite him knowing or feeling that God had sent him to Griffin to minister the whole counsel of God's word. This left Brother Jim and Brother Ed unsure of God's plan. One day Brother Ed called Brother Jim to talk about starting a new church in Griffin. Brother Jim was in his prayer closet praying about the same purpose when Brother Ed called. God was revealing to both men on the same day that His will was to start a new ministry in Griffin. In June 2003, in a small real estate office in Griffin, GA the Bible Truth Baptist Mission was born. The membership consisted of 9 people, 4 of which were from the Veitch family. They continued for 2 months in that real estate office before God moved them into a permanent building. This was another miracle because God allowed them to borrow $75,000 from an individual without the church having any type of credit or financial history. In September 2003, Bible Truth Baptist Church at 101 Woodlawn Avenue was established. Two years following this date the church was rendered debt free because the $75,000 was paid off by an anonymous individual. In 2004 Brother Jim became a full-time pastor and is still full time today. Since 2003, Bible Truth Baptist Church has seen many miracles performed, lives changed and souls saved. God has also provided the financial means to renovate church building inside and out. The goal of Bible Truth Baptist Church is to continue to be faithful and serve the Lord until He comes.
