The Big Sur Volunteer Fire Brigade provides first response capabilities to fires, medical emergencies, traffic collisions, and rescue situations to the Big Sur Community and surrounding area. The brigade operates out of three fire stations with the main headquarters station at the Post Ranch Resort in the community of Big Sur.
The Big Sur Volunteer Fire Brigade has been in operation since 1974 and receives no public funding. The BSVFB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all revenue generated for operating costs comes from private donations and fund raisers.
