More about Bill Arp Baseball

Welcome To Bill Arp Park
Hello friends and family. I am Todd Pratt and I am the president of Bill Arp Park. I was asked to fill the position by Jeff Posey after a 7 year term. Mr. Posey was very influential in our park's growth and hopefully I can step into his shoes and not miss a stride. I would like to thank Jeff and his family for all the time and work he has done in the past 7 years. I took over in August, 2010 and have been hard at it since. The park has seen improvements since the past summer that some of you may not know of. Our football field received a brand new scoreboard and our football/concession building received an addition this past fall. Our baseball fields are getting the same attention and are going through a facelift this spring and summer. I expect our baseball family will once again be proud to be a part of Bill Arp Baseball on Opening Day.

A little about myself and family before I introduce some of the goals I have made for our park. I spent 23 years playing professional baseball and 12 of those years I was fortunate enough to experience in the major leagues. I was part of two World Series teams and bring plenty of experience to Bill Arp Park in the way of athletics. I also have years of experience in helping communities build parks and organizing social and athletic events. I will use this experience to help our community build Bill Arp to where it belongs, a family orientated park where all of you will be proud to take your children. With that being said, it is up to us as a community to bring back the foundation to Bill Arp Park.

The park will not stand alone and it will need the efforts from all of us in the Bill Arp Park community to reach out and help when we can. If that be volunteer work, donations, or just attending our events. It all helps to put another one of our children on the field so that he or she can experience character building through athletics.

Bill Arp Park offers Baseball, Football, Softball, and Cheerleading. Our football program is continuously growing. We have gone from 4 teams to 10 teams in the last 3 seasons. 6 of our Falcon teams reached the playoffs and we expect the growth to continue. Our football board had a complete overhaul with the elections this winter and it now has 8 new members including a football director. Eric Turner Sr. is our Football President. A successful business man and father, we are looking for great things to happen under his leadership. Our football ages are from 5 to 12 years old. Our cheer program is at the top of the list in competition in our county and is led by Charity Mathis. Charity looks to not only improve our cheer program but to help it grow in numbers. The program continues to rack up awards.

Our baseball board is continuously growing and is led by Chris Little. Chris is up to the challenge to improve and to guide the growth of our baseball program. We are looking to build more State Champions like our 13/14 team of 2010. I will help with that as well. I will hold bi-annual camps for our baseball program. These camps will have representatives from our local high schools and colleges to help our children learn the fundamentals of baseball. This spring we have coaches and players from Alexander, Douglas County, and Chapel Hill high School. West Georgia Technical College will have their coaches and players at our camp as well. This summer Georgia State University will also hold a camp at Bill Arp Park. As mentioned earlier, I will be leading the improvements to our playing fields. My experience and the counties help you should start seeing changes to our fields as early as this spring. Baseball ages are from 5 to 14 years old.

I welcome all of you to come out to Bill Arp Park and relax. My promise to you as a community is to do everything possible to improve your children's experience at BILL ARP PARK!

Thanks for the chance to help!
