More about Bingham Farm

My husband and I bought the farm in 2014 after my great-grandmother Kate White passed away. Her and my great-grandfather C.C. White bought the family homestead in 1949 and they raised 3 boys here. They used their brains, their backs and the wisdom of their ancestors to carve a joyous life from the earth here. They lived a very beautiful but simple life, one that makes me very proud.

My great-grandmother was my favorite person. I admired her in so many ways. I stayed with her daily while my parents worked. I saw her keep this place going like a well oiled machine. She went about her daily chores and seasonal tasks while watching multiple great grandchildren at the same time. One of my favorite memories was sitting outside on that old glider and stringing green beans while we watched the cars go by. I ate 3 meals a day here, mostly fresh food from her garden. These meals nourished not only my body, but my soul as well. This is where my love for good food all started.

This house and land has always been my peaceful place. So when we got the opportunity to purchase the old family homestead, we did! And It has been non-stop sweat, labor, and tears ever since. When you buy an a house that is almost 100 years old and a farm that hasn’t been farmed in many decades - you take on a lot of work, but Tyler and I love a good challenge. We love turning something old with history into something new and beautiful again. And we have done just that. We have successfully turned this place around again into a real working farm and our motto “Back to our Roots” reflects just that. It seemed that every step we took towards improving this place brought us closer to where we were meant to be, and to a way of life that spoke of our beliefs and values.

Our goals have evolved though. At first we just wanted to homestead for ourselves. We started small, raising batches of 25 chickens at a time and playing around with a small garden in our “free time” outside of our 8 to 5 jobs. Watching our son’s health flourish being fed pure and healthy foods raised right smack in the middle of our property just reaffirmed our feeling that living this life was the best thing we could possibly be doing for our family.

The more passionate we became through our homesteading journey, the more we wanted to share this way of life, this food, this connection to nature that we have discovered. We decided we wanted to share our knowledge with the community and better our health as well as those around us by making quality foods available and convenient. Hence the start of the farm store, on site! We hope this place will not only be a place to come purchase pure food but a place to connect and celebrate a way of life together.

While we know not everyone is called to working a family farm, there is no one who can't benefit from this awesome bounty that we have found here. We look forward to meeting you, educating you and sharing with you locally, nutrient dense food that we produce here at our home.

Thanks for your love and support!
