Birney Elementary is a California Distinguished, and a Title I Achievement School. We are one of eight elementary schools of the El Rancho Unified School District. We serve five hundred students from kindergarten to fifth grade, with a teacher staff of twenty-three. Ninety-eight percent of our students are Hispanic.
Our school has a comprehensive School Safety Plan which includes procedures for disaster drills, crime reporting, medication administration, child abuse reporting, school-wide dress codes, and rules and procedures for school discipline. To ensure safety, our campus is closed.
Our school has several services to support and assist students:
Title I, Safe and Drug‐Free Schools and Communities program, Class Size Reduction (CSR), Special Education, State Preschool Program, School Library Grant, National School Lunch Program, and Enhancing Education Through Technology.
