Bisbano's Pizza Parlor

Bisbano's Pizza has been a long-standing tradition in the Lafayette community for over 40 years. Owner George Petro and his staff are committed to serving you while providing the best pizzas, pasta, sandwiches, appetizers, salads, and beverages in town.

In the early 1970s, a local businessman named Joseph S. Petro renovated an old burnt out house that had been left in ruins. The name for the restaurant came from a search of many Italian surnames, finally settling on Bisbano's because "it sounded the most Italian". Joe came up with many of the original ingredients and recipes before launching Bisbano's in 1975.

A few years later, Joe sold Bisbano's and went on to open many other restaurants. The second owner, William Bull sold the restaurant in 1985, later becoming a lawyer. The third owners were Jerry and Shannon Hebert, who sold the restaurant and now own other successful businesses (but still eat at Bisbano's regularly!) The man who purchased the restaurant in 1990 from the Heberts was none other than Joe's son, George. George Petro played a significant role in tasting and insuring the consistency of the menu items in the early days, first in the family's kitchen and later when he worked at Bisbano's with his father. George's commitment to quality is a tradition which still continues to this day.

Bisbano's is also home to the Cellar Door Lounge, Lafayette's only underground bar (literally)! The Cellar Door has nightly drink specials and provides live entertainment several nights during the week.

We're located one block off of the intersection of Johnston St. and W. St. Mary Blvd., within walking distance from the UL-Lafayette campus.
