In 1903 the J.H. Middleton family of Missouri moved to Tarrant County, Texas. There was not a Sunday School in the area for the children. J.H., along with Gertie Pool and Effie Griffith soon had one going. This led to the organization of the Bisbee Missionary Baptist Church. It was organized May 21, 1905. They met under a brush arbor in A.J. Bryson’s pasture. Rev. D.B. Brown was the first pastor. Some land was donated by A.J. Bryson and J.R. Pool, and some was purchased. On April 3, 1906, the first church building was started. The building was completed on September 1, 1906.
Today, Bisbee continues to grow. There have been 7 building programs, and the church body has owned 2 parsonages in it’s history and continues to reach out and share the Lord Jesus with those in our community. We meet in the building the Lord has provided for us in order to Reach, Teach, Win, and to Develop disciples for Christ in this world.
