Our passion and love of coffee began in the mid 90s, starting with making coffee as a barista. Throughout the years our family has worked in coffee as baristas, shop managers, and roasters. Then in 2008, our passions for coffee took over everything and we started Black Velvet Coffee as a small 11lb craft batch roaster with a dream of roasting amazing coffees with excellence and consistency. Over the next 5 years we sold coffee at farmers markets, dropped coffee off on our neighbor’s doorsteps each month, built a coffee cart and served coffee at our local concerts and events. Then, in 2011, we opened the Espresso Bar in our home town of Mammoth Lakes, CA. In 2015, we opened up our Wine Bar to showcase a variety of boutique wine hand chosen based on our vision.
