Blackstone is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 9,026 at the 2010 census. It is a part of the Providence metropolitan area.HistoryThis region was first inhabited by the Nipmuc. Blackstone was settled by European immigrants in 1662 and was incorporated in 1845. The town was part of Mendon, Massachusetts, before becoming a separate municipality. Prior to 1915, Blackstone contained the area to the west that would break away and become Millville, Massachusetts. Blackstone is within the area of the John H. Chaffee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of, of which is land and, or 2.94%, is water.
