At Blackwater Ranch we strive to bring you the most rewarding equine experience whether you are already an accomplished rider or you are starting from the beginning. We specialize in beginners and nature of the horse ground skills, but we also offer intermediate and advanced skills along with barrels, poles and western pleasure. Our instructors have many years of experience in riding, competition and teaching. We've also received certification by the American Association of Horsemanship Safety (AAHS). We feel this is a testament to our commitment to safety being our first priority!

The mature horses used in lessons are perfect companions and will gratefully do whatever is asked of them. Each one has attributes that make their riding experience unique and allow the teaching of different skills to a rider. Beginners are started on lunge line or round pen lessons and advance at their own pace through the 9 steps to secure seat riding.

A few of the benefits of horse back riding lessons enjoyed by kids .are time spent outdoors, exercise, imagination and interaction with animals. Horseback riding is a skill that is enjoyed and continued thru adulthood.
