More about Blessed Are The Mothers

My name is Lisa Horstkamp and I am a Certified Doula with StillBirthday, and a Certified Lactation Counselor with the Healthy Children Project. I have been working with our local hospital for over year volunteering as a breastfeeding counselor and I also help host a breastfeeding support group in Valley, Al. I'm now doula Client's. My personal focus is assisting with pregnancy after loss. I also attend miscarriage & stillbirths, and births were there has been a life limiting diagnosis. I'm preparing and working to sit for the international lactation consultant exam in the fall of 2018 to become board certified LC around the globe.

I'm happy to announce Blessed Are The Mothers will now be offering at home lactation counseling visits. Getting help at home can make moms and babies more comfortable and confident in their abilities. Having 2 home lactation visits in the first 10 days has been shown to increase exclusive breastfeeding rates through the first 6 months(1).
Blessed Are The Mothers home lactation counseling visits include breastfeeding support, counseling, and latch evaluation. I have extensive breast pump experience, and can help with assembly, maintenance, how-tos, tips, and tricks.
When adding on postpartum assistance you will get help with daily tasks. These include, but are not limited to, vacuuming, sweeping kitchen floors, unloading the washing machine/clothes drier and folding, clothe diaper help, watching baby while mom takes a shower or sort walk, food prep, light cooking, and grocery shopping.
