THE TESTIMONY & HISTORY OF
THE BLOOD BOUGHT CHURCH OF THE REDEEMED
The Blood Bought Church was born out of the Scripture found in Psalm 107:2 which reads “…let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy…”. This was the vision that God placed in the spirit of Allen V. Roper, Jr.

Allen V. Roper, Jr . came from a stable and loving home, but did not grow up in the church community. His parents both accepted Christ later in life, but Allen chose the hard road. His personal introduction to Christ came one day when he went to a young lady’s home with the intention of robbing her. Unknown to Allen, this was a true woman of God, filled with the Holy Spirit, and she invited him in and began to minister to Allen, under the anointing and direction of the Holy Spirit, completely unaware of his intentions. At the end of just ONE hour of hearing about the goodness and saving grace of Jesus Christ, Allen fell to his knees in the young woman’s living room and, with his hands outstretched to God, asked Jesus to come into his heart and save him. That day, Allen gave his life to Christ. That young woman who followed the direction of the Holy Spirit is now Deborah A. Roper – Allen’s loving, and devoted wife of 26 years.

Allen and Deborah built their relationship and life on service to God. While raising 3 beautiful children, they served in ministry under Pastor Paul Brinkley in Detroit, MI and Bishop I. H. Davis of True Church House of Prayer in Pontiac, MI. Allen served as an Elder and as an Associate Pastor – this was the beginning of his pastoral apprenticeship. But even as Elder and Mother Roper devoted their lives more and more to God, struggles began to set in and the young couple fought to keep their marriage together. But God soon sent spiritual help and guidance in the form of Elder Howard Hearndon and his lovely wife, who embraced and nurtured the family in a spiritual healing.

During this time, God gave Elder Roper a revelation of the strength that his family holds as they continue to S.T.A.N.D. on the Word of God. The letters of the word “stand” are the first initials of each member of the family: Stephen, Twyla, Allen, Nadia and Deborah – and together they are standing on the Lord’s promises.

When Elder Roper received confirmation from the Lord, he was ordained Pastor by his Bishop and began to hold Bible study in his home in 1996 – the basement of this home in Detroit, MI is where The Blood Bought Church of the Redeemed was founded by Jesus Christ, and presided over by Pastor and Mother Roper. God’s vision began to take shape.

After a few years of faithful service, the Lord moved the ministry to a storefront on the Westside of Detroit, where many souls were welcomed into the Kingdom of God.

The Lord spoke to Pastor and Mother Roper in early 2006 with a mandate that it was time to move – and He directed the ministry to McDonough, Georgia. Pastor and Mother Roper instructed the church to pray about the move and receive instructions for themselves from the Lord: almost the entire ministry uprooted and relocated to Georgia, under the instructions of the Holy Spirit. God’s Word was on the move.

After several years of service in Georgia, the Lord spoke again and said that He was moving the ministry to a people that are hungry for Him and, in August 2009, the Lord sent the ministry to Ohio. Pastor and Mother Roper saw an immediate need in the community and the Body of Christ for healing.

Today, the vision of God through this mighty man and woman of God, has given birth to a strong, faithful ministry and an outreach program - Love The Community Outreach – that strives to meet the needs of the community in actions, not just words. This is a ministry that stresses a personal relationship with God, not a dependence on man… where God restores families and mends broken hearts… where broken marriages are made whole… where complete liberty in the Holy Spirit is given, encouraged and accepted… where true love and compassion for one another abounds.

This is God’s vision… this is The Blood Bought Church of the Redeemed.
