The mission of the Bloomfield Township Fire Department is to protect the lives and property of residents and visitors through:
Public education in fire safety and hazard recognition
Aggressive fire suppression
Professional emergency treatment and care of the sick and injured
Efficient pre-incident planning and emergency management
Hazardous materials control and mitigation
The Fire Department is located at the southeast corner of Andover and Exeter Roads, west of the Township Hall.
It was organized in 1930. It is a full service fire department composed of 60 uniformed career firefighters and officers as well as two civilian secretaries.
The public is always welcome to visit the Fire Department and is especially encouraged to attend the annual Open House held during the second week of October and the free CPR classes are held three times per year.. The Fire Chief, Fire Marshal and other officers frequently attend neighborhood meetings and meet with community organizations to speak to residents and guests about fire safety and prevention and emergency medical services.
