Blue Heron Bed and Breakfast

This charming, historic home is located on the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain, just 45 minutes from downtown New Orleans. We are conveniently located on the main street through Old Mandeville within walking distance of all the local hotspots, including the lakefront, Tammany Trace, Dew Drop Jazz and Social Hall, the Pontchartrain Yacht Club, restaurants, shops, farmers markets and more.
Blue Heron is not your typical B&B experience - it is so much more. We go above and beyond to make our guests feel more relaxed and comfortable than they do in their own home - it's all in the details!
Each guest room is accessed by a private entrance from a lovely porch that overlooks the property's gardens. Breakfast is fully stocked in the suite each afternoon so that guests can wake and dine at their leisure in the morning - either in their room or on the porch. Breakfast includes fresh pastries, quiche, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, milk, cereal, oatmeal and more.
Blue Heron is owned and operated by Northshore natives Steven and Sarah Federer, who also live on the property along with their two children. Steven is a third generation restauranteur with a passion for food and Southern hospitality, and Sarah is a public relations practitioner who grew up in her parents' award-winning B&B in downtown Covington - Camellia House. The couple purchased and fully restored this 100-year-old home in 2014 and dreamed of oneday opening a bed and breakfast of their own like the one Sarah grew up in. That dream became reality when they opened Blue Heron in August of 2016.
