Welcome to Blue Mountain Sports & Wear, Jim Thorpe’s original bike shop! We’ve been taking care of all your biking, kayaking, boating, and outdoor recreation needs since 1989.

Our friendly, knowledgeable staff are here to get you set up on a fun-filled outdoor adventure. We offer year-round rentals on sporting equipment, from bikes to kayaks to skis and more. Whether you’re interesting in river kayaking along the Lehigh River, biking Lehigh Gorge and the Historic Switchback trails, or going on a mountain biking adventure, Blue Mountain Sports & Wear can make it happen!

We rent top-quality, well maintained mountain bikes. Our fleet includes just the right bike for you! Choose from 24-speed, front suspension, kids, and comfort styles. There are many trails to choose from, including family-style rails-to-trails along the Lehigh Gorge, technical single-track trails, and descent of Twin Peaks. We also provide shuttle services! Our shuttle service can drop you off at the top of the trail where you will ride along a gentle downhill back to our shop. Let us take the hard work out of biking.
