Blue Ridge Veterinary Blood Bank

In January of 2011, Blue Ridge Veterinary Associates purchased Eastern Veterinary Blood Bank and are now located in Purcellville, VA. We had been a long time donation site for the program and we wanted to be able to provide so much more! We are proud to provide a program where family dogs visit every 5-7 weeks to donate blood that can save up to FOUR lives. Our donors are never muzzled or sedated, and unlike other blood banks in the United States, we do not cage animals whose sole purpose is to donate blood.

Without our committed donor parents and their loving pups, we would not be able to provide the support we do to emergency hospitals across the United States for pets in need. We have a team that loves what the do and that makes for a lot of fun for everyone involved. This page is to show our appreciation for our donors and their owners, as well as to help spread the word that dogs can donate blood too. Please feel free to share pictures if your dog currently donates or has ever received a blood transfusion!
