Blueberry Sky, Enrichment Program

*Blueberry Kids, Ages: 3-6 years old. A fun program designed to encourage children to be aware of their own feelings and actions; to inspire the use of positive language and beliefs, to feel good about themselves, and to promote a higher sense of self.
My goal is to empower children to be active participants in creating their own healthy, heart driven, peaceful lives. Through the use of multi-cultural stories, creative arts, affirmations, movement, and imaginative play, children will be given the emotional techniques, needed to decrease stress and anxiety, while increasing self esteem and self awareness.
This program will help children understand that having positive thoughts and emotions, will create confidence, gratitude and security. To learn ways of peace, by breath and relaxation, to respect and recognize our connection to beauty, through nature, the world, and most importantly, within our own unique selves. Children will be taught to navigate their emotions and to manage their response to the challenges we all face, no matter the age. With a variety of natural toys, books and games, this program will honor the needs of young children for variation and entertainment.
Description:
Stories connect us to one another, and give us a sense of who we are. Imagination is key to understanding. Each day a story will be told from a library rich with enchantment, folk tales, and adventure. As an artist I have made a magical theater of lively characters and scenery on a small table stage, where these stories will come alive. Circle time will include songs, and verse with finger play, stretching and balance, nature based yoga, discussion and sharing. A specially designed activity, and/or creative art project will take place in the second half of class, as well as time to relax and enjoy free play. The children will each make and have their own journals, and many of the lessons will include the study of the natural world, as well as basic educational skills. Please have your child bring a simple snack they will enjoy.
