Bluegrass Candy Mountain

Few memorials are as sweet as Bluegrass Candy Mountain, the candy business dedicated to the late Franklin “Hoss” Sanders, the tobacco farmer and deputy sheriff from Port Royal, KY and his wife Linda.

For nearly a decade, Matt Sanders and Jacqueline Walton have been making homemade caramels, chocolates, and baked goods as Christmas presents for their family and friends. Reminiscing about Hoss Sanders’ love for the caramels led us to create a new business dedicated to his memory — Bluegrass Candy Mountain.

Our love of food originated with all the good cooks of Port Royal, KY, starting with Matt's mother, Linda Sanders, and his "second mom", Suzie Payton. Our recipes are a combination of passed down family recipes and new ones alike. Many of our new recipes are realized over a family game of cards or an after church discussion.

As a member of Kentucky Proud, our vision is to keep Bluegrass Candy Mountain a family-owned and operated business, giving our customers an experience that can only come from the love and passion of family and friends working together to produce products our customers will love and remember, just as we love and remember our late parents, Hoss and Linda Sanders.
