We offer Hydroponic Lettuce and Basil.

All of our lettuce and basil are grown inside a greenhouse in water. Hydroponics is the method of plants in water with no soil. The nutrients are dissolved in the water and delivered directly to the plant rather than amending the soil in traditional methods. Hydroponic produce is clean as it does not come in contact with soil.

We are located in Stone Creek, Ohio. Our greenhouses are 8,000 sq ft under roof. We are FDA inspected twice a year. We use NFT Hydroponic Channels that are made of food grade PVC. Nutrients are delivered to the roots of the plants as water travels through the channel. Water is an essential component in greenhouse crop production. We use well water that is tested twice a year for contaminants like E. Coli. In order to continue operation at our greenhouse we must pass this FDA regulation. This is just one way we work to keep your food source local and safe.

We also provide lettuce for Hennis/Hospice in New Philadelphia. You might be surprised to know that most of our business is Basil! In fact, 75% of the greenhouse grows basil that we sell wholesale to produce companies in Columbus for distribution. So the next time you visit a restaurant from Cambridge to Columbus, you could be eating some basil from Boltz Family Farms.

In fact, the greenhouse is just one part of our farms. We also raise beef cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and have pet donkeys. Along with making hay to feed our animals, we sell some hay and straw throughout the winter. It's a great life and our family loves working together here growing our food and raising our animals.
