More about Boots & Paws

Kaisa began working with animals in a professional setting at the young age of 12. She was started under a W-2 with a special working permit to begin her career in the boarding department of a veterinarian clinic, caring for up to 40 animals at a time. This amazing opportunity opened many doors as Kaisa quickly got promoted to being a Veterinarian Assistant at age 16 after mentoring under several of the doctors there. During this time she also cared for the USCG & Seattle Police K9 Unit's dogs who quickly became her favorite furry clients!! Following 6 years working at the Veterinarian Clinic, she decided to pursue work in another atmosphere where she cared for over 100 dogs at a time in a kennel setting.

Shortly following this transition she decided she would much rather care for animals on her own term, and branched out to begin her business of one on one animal care. With her experience in the animal care field she carries the knowledge to assess behavior issues, care for challenging animals, take action in medical emergencies, and provide a truly one of a kind care for animals, without kennels.

Her love for animals is shown throughout her life, no matter the size or shape. Aside from being a full time student at UW Tacoma, Kaisa spends every other ounce of her free time with her own dogs and horses. She is currently a 2x Grand Champion, High Point War Horse, Chinook Pass Recipient, and currently holds National titles of Champion & 3rd place with the T.I.P. program with Jockey Club. After apprenticing under a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist for several years, she now is offering her own services for those in search of help with fine tuning for showing their equine partners. She is proficient in all disciplines aside from Gaming and Reining.

In 2017 Kaisa moved from Snohomish County onto JBLM with the love of her life, Zachary. Together they have 2 rescue dogs - Caliber & Bourbon, and a Boston Terrier - Dalilah, that she grew up with. Zach is currently an active duty member in the US Army and often she spends her time with animals to keep the clock ticking until he returns home. Together they rescued their first horse that was destined for a Mexico slaughter house while he was deployed. They are now working towards building an on the side business of rescuing horses like their current one, and eventually retiring knowing that they did their part to give some lucky horses a chance to be loved again.
