The Tin Building Theatre (TBT) was organized as a sub-group of the Bosque Arts Center (BAC) in 1981. The group's first production, "Morning's At Seven," was presented in August 1982 at the Clifton Elementary School. Since that time, TBT has presented more than 135 productions, including comedies, dramas, musicals, summer melodramas, and children's theater. Named for the tin building which formerly housed a manufacturing plant, the theater originally had no bathrooms, heating, air conditioning, or even a stage and curtain. Today, TBT has undergone a series of transformations and evolved into a modern model for rural community theaters. TBT is an all-volunteer group governed by a Board of Directors and one of several sub-groups encompassing the BAC umbrella. Through the decades, hundred of volunteers, from children to octogenarians, have worked to make TBT a first-class facility which benefits the residents of Bosque County and Central Texas.
